Cloud-only or co-managed engagement

Turn Cloud Infrastructure into a Managed Operating Environment

Cloud platforms make infrastructure programmable; they do not decide who owns access, alerts, changes, backups, cost, recovery, or security. AriaNet builds and operates a responsibility model around the cloud services your business actually uses.

  • Available independently from endpoint and help-desk services
  • Recurring operations or separately scoped architecture and migration work
  • Supported service families and specialist requirements documented before commitment
Why organizations start looking

Cloud complexity usually grows faster than the operating model around it.

Organizations often reach the point where workloads are running, but ownership is fragmented across engineering, security, vendors, and part-time administrators. The resulting risk is not “the cloud.” It is unclear responsibility and inconsistent operation.

01

Alerts exist without dependable action

Monitoring produces notifications, but triage, ownership, severity, after-hours expectations, and the path from symptom to application owner are not consistently defined.

02

Access has accumulated over time

Human and service identities, administrative roles, keys, federation, and emergency access may no longer reflect current teams or least-privilege needs.

03

Changes are difficult to reproduce

Configuration drift, manual changes, incomplete documentation, and inconsistent infrastructure-as-code practices make troubleshooting and controlled improvement harder.

04

Recovery assumptions have not been exercised

Backups may exist without clear workload ownership, retention decisions, dependency mapping, restore evidence, or tested recovery procedures.

Service scope

Choose ongoing operations, a defined project, or a shared engineering model.

Cloud services are accepted by service family and responsibility—not through a blanket promise to manage every platform feature. Discovery identifies the workloads, tools, access, application dependencies, and specialist coverage required.

Business and operating outcomes

Cloud operations should make ownership and change easier to understand.

The objective is a repeatable operating system for the covered workloads, not simply another dashboard.

A named owner for each operating decision

Platform, application, data, identity, backup, monitoring, security, and vendor responsibilities are assigned instead of assumed.

Useful visibility instead of alert volume

Monitoring and observability are connected to severity, runbooks, escalation, and the teams able to act on the underlying service.

Controlled, explainable change

Approved workflows, documentation, access controls, and automation reduce avoidable drift while preserving customer governance.

An improvement backlog with business context

Reliability, cost, security, lifecycle, and recovery findings are prioritized around workload importance and customer decisions.

Responsibility model

Cloud responsibility extends beyond the cloud account.

The exact assignment depends on the engagement. These rows show the boundaries that must be resolved before AriaNet accepts an operating role.

Typical responsibility boundaries; the signed agreement controls the final scope.
AreaAriaNet roleCustomer role
Cloud platformOperate accepted services, configurations, monitoring, and routine changes within scope.Own commercial account decisions, approve architecture and material change, and fund required platform services.
ApplicationsSupport the infrastructure and operating dependencies assigned to AriaNet.Own application code, product behavior, releases, data logic, and unresolved third-party application defects unless separately scoped.
Identity and accessAdminister agreed roles, controls, reviews, and secure operating access.Authorize user and service access, maintain identity-provider decisions, and identify data and application owners.
Monitoring and incidentsTriage agreed signals, follow runbooks, communicate, and escalate within contracted coverage.Provide application and business responders and retain legal, regulatory, and business incident authority.
Backup and recoveryOperate accepted backup workflows and perform the contracted validation or recovery activities.Define workload criticality, retention, dependencies, acceptable downtime, and participation in formal exercises.
Cost and roadmapIdentify material trends, waste candidates, lifecycle issues, and improvement options.Make reservation, commitment, architecture, product, and budget decisions.

Cloud-only customers are welcome

Managed cloud operations can be purchased independently. Endpoint help desk, office network, and Microsoft 365 administration are not required when they are outside the cloud engagement.

Migration is a business transition—not a data-copy promise

A migration scope identifies dependencies, security, data movement, downtime, validation, rollback, licensing, application owners, and steady-state support. Large or uncertain migrations may use phased discovery and time-and-materials controls rather than an artificial fixed-price promise.

Qualifications and supported services are documented

The proposal identifies the service families accepted, the qualifications required, and the people or approved partners responsible for delivery. Formal provider-program designations are stated only when current and independently verifiable.

How it works

A documented path from discovery to operation.

  1. 01

    Discover workloads and dependencies

Map service families, applications, data, integrations, tools, access, owners, constraints, risks, and desired outcomes.

  2. 02

    Assign responsibility and coverage

Define customer, AriaNet, platform, application, security, and vendor ownership—including approvals and escalation.

  3. 03

    Stabilize or implement

Address critical access, visibility, backup, configuration, security, or operating-readiness gaps in an agreed sequence.

  4. 04

    Operate and improve

Run accepted workflows and review reliability, cost, security, lifecycle, recovery evidence, and roadmap priorities.

Frequently asked questions

Questions to settle before an agreement.

Can we purchase cloud operations without managed IT?

Yes. Cloud operations is an independent service path and does not require endpoint or office help-desk services.

Does AriaNet support every AWS or Azure service?

No blanket promise is made. Supported service families, responsibilities, required qualifications, and specialist coverage are confirmed during discovery and written into the scope.

Can AriaNet work in an environment we already built?

Potentially. Existing architecture, tools, access, documentation, supportability, security, dependencies, and customer-retained responsibilities are reviewed before an operating role is accepted.

Are migrations included in monthly operations?

Architecture, migration, and substantial modernization work are normally separately scoped projects unless the agreement explicitly includes them.

Can AriaNet work with our engineering team?

Yes. The service can use a co-managed model with a responsibility matrix covering platform, application, security, operations, and change approval.

Does managed cloud include application support?

Only when the application responsibilities are explicitly included. Infrastructure availability does not by itself make AriaNet responsible for source code, product defects, business logic, or third-party application behavior.

Will AriaNet guarantee an RTO or RPO?

Recovery objectives are defined per workload only after dependencies, backup design, customer responsibilities, and testing are understood. An objective is not published as a guarantee without the corresponding contractual and operational evidence.

Define the cloud operating model before promising the outcome.

Use the discovery call to identify the workloads, service families, ownership gaps, access model, coverage needs, and business outcomes. AriaNet will determine whether the next step should be managed operations, deeper discovery, an assessment, or a separately scoped project.
